Alfred, NY - The Alfred State women's Cross Country & Track and Field programs saw five athletes honored on the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.

The five Pioneers that earned this honor were: Gabriella Thurmond (Ithaca, NY, Ithaca), Oli Kraynik (Rush, NY, Honeoye Falls - Lima ), Emily Richardson (Hilton, NY, Hilton), Janiesha Dureny (Wantaqe, NJ, High Point Regional), and Ava Sylvester (Fillmore, NY, Fillmore).

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Cross Country/Track & Field teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances in athletic competition and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes cross country/track & field honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
