Alfred State is proud to now have a disc golf course in the woods near Pioneer Stadium. From parking lot # 20, just walk up the road toward the softball field. You will find to your right an information board with a map and course rules. The first hole is located right there.
This 18-hole course is a loop so you will end where you start. It is a course that is primarily in the woods with signage throughout the course to guide you. It is designed so you can easily shorten the number of holes played depending on your interest and time. The course has multiple elevation changes and can be difficult walking for some. Consider wearing sturdy shoes and long pants.
Need discs? The recreation office has discs to loan for anyone in the college community- students, faculty, and staff. Stop by the recreation office in the Student Leadership Center or contact us at 607-587-4967 or SciannBL@alfredstate.edu. There is no cost to borrow discs or to play on the course.
Disc golf is the perfect activity for anyone looking to enjoy the outdoors, compete against yourself or others, destress, and even get in a bit of a workout in the process. Want to learn more about disc golf? Check out this guide from the Professional Disc Golf Association to learn more. Enjoy!
