Four Pioneers Garnered All-Conference Honors, With Thomson Earning Coach Of The Year

Alfred, NY- The Alfred State men's lacrosse team sees four members earn AMCC All-Conference honors, while three took home yearly honors.

Griffin Doan was named Newcomer of the Year along with First-Team All-Conference honors. The Auburn, NY native led the team and the conference in points (85), goals (41), and assists (41). He played in all 15 games and grabbed 82 groundballs, while causing 15 turnovers.

Brady Nugent garnered Co-Defensive Player of the Year honors, along with First-Team All-Conference honors. Nugent lead the team in groundballs with 96 and caused turnovers with 42. He was a staple in the Pioneers midfield and defensive side of the ball.

Mike Wojcik earned First-Team All-Conference honors. The West Seneca, NY native was the second leading goal scorer this season, after netting 31 goals and assisting on 10 others for a total of 41 points. Wojcik picked up 67 groundballs and caused 11 turnovers.

Jacob Steele was the a force on the Pioneers back-line and garnered First-Team All-Conference honors. He started every game he played in and caused 29 turnovers and picked up 39 groundballs.

Head Coach Ethan Thomson was named AMCC coach of the year after leading the team to their first AMCC regular season title and AMCC Championship title. The team went 9-6 on the year, while being a perfect 3-0 against AMCC foes.
