Pioneers Secure AMCC Regular Season Title

Alfred, NY- The Alfred State Men's Lacrosse team picked up their last conference game win on their home turf, 11-4. This places them as the top seed in the conference with a 7-6 overall record and 3-0 in the conference.
 
Griffin Doan and Colby Pasiut guided the Pios to their last conference game victory as Doan notched a haul and Pasiut earned a hat-trick. Mike Wojcik followed behind with two goals on the day. Ryan Batson, Mike Coburn also aided the team with a goal of their own. Matthew Burris earned the win in the net tallying eight saves on the day.
 
The Pioneers hopped on the board quickly, netting four goals in the first period. The first goal was scored in the 11-minute mark by Pasiut. Coburn would follow Pasiut, notching his seventh goal of the season assisted by Dom Rosettie. Pasiut would secure his second goal of the game to which Batson would respond with another goal after sending them into the second period, 4-0.
 
 The Hawks made their way onto the scoreboard in the second period, grabbing one goal with nine minutes left to play. The Pios added to their four existing goals, as Wojcik netted a goal assisted by Coburn. Hilbert tacked on their second goal of the game right before halftime, cutting the deficit down, 5-2.
 
Wojcik kick started the third period with his second goal of the game assisted again by Coburn, but the Hawks were quick to respond with their own goal, 6-3. Before heading into the final period, Pasiut earned a hat-trick by netting his third goal of the game,7-3.
 
Doan's contained momentum burst in the fourth period as he notched a haul in 10 minutes of play. Hilbert managed to grab a lone goal, but it wasn't enough as the Pioneers held them off, securing the win, 11-4.
 
The Pioneers will be hosting the first round of playoffs next Wednesday, time TBA.
