Pioneers Dominate In Last Outdoor Track Meet Of The Season

Alfred NY, - The Alfred State Women's Track and Field Team Dominated in the St. John Fisher cardinal classic.
On Saturday at the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic:
In the Discus Throw, Janiesha Dureny finished 14^th with best throw of 33.30 meters.
Then in the long jump Madison Snayczuk finished 18^th with the longest jump being 5.17 meters.
In the 10,000m with a time of 48:34.46 Caity Strecker finished 8^th.
In the 4x100 with the team of Haley Beman, Emily Richardson, Oil Kraynik, and Snayczuk finished 6^th with a time of 50:28.
In the 3000m Steeplechase Ava Sylvester finished 15^th with a time of 13:19.52.
Then on Sunday at the Alfred State Sunday Open
In the 4x100 with the team of Beman, Richardson, Kraynik, and Snayczuk started the day with a first-place finish after crossing the line in 51:12.
Then in the 100 meter dash, Charis Evans and Heather Sponton finished in the top two with times of 14:35 and 15:27 respectively. Evans and Sponton took the top two spots in the 200 meter dash with times of 31.51 from Evans and 32.68 from Sponton.
In the Javelin Throw two Pios placed in the top 10, as Dureny notched a best throw of 23.86 meters, followed by Richardson with a throw of 17.64 meters.
In the high jump, Richardson placed 1^st after a best jump of 1.62 meters.
Kraynik would also finish first in the Pole Vault with a best jump of 2.80 meters.
Two Pioneers took first and second in the Long Jump with best jumps of 5.28 meters from Snayczuk and 5.18 meters from Beman.
The Pioneers will be back in action next weekend at the SUNYAC Outdoor Championships hosted by SUNY Cortland.
