Pioneers Compete at Boston University

A contingent of Alfred State track and field athletes traveled to Boston University to compete in the prestigious David Hemery Valentine Invitational. The Pioneers competed versus NCAA DI, DII, and DIII athletes.

Paul Kemsley (Lancaster) led the team with a 3rd place finish in the weight throw. He recorded a top toss of 17.07 m to tie for 3rd in a field that featured 40 competitors.

Jacob Drew (Corning Painted Post) etched his way into the Alfred State record book with a great effort in the 800. His run of 1:57.44 is now the 3rd best in school history.

Jacob Wadsworth (Dansville) was 17th in the high jump with a leap of 1.97 m.

The distance medley relay team also competed and finished in 11:25.07.

On the women's side, the distance medley relay team of Kathrine O'Buckley (Queens/Francis Lewis), Veronica Dailey (Addison), Katherine Frascella (Franklinville), and Emily Brigman (Lancaster) finished in 14:48.16. Brigman finished the 60 m hurdles in 10.25.

The Pioneers are back in action on Friday when they travel to Edinboro.
