Methodist took an early lead and never looked back as they defeated Alfred State 20-5 on Wednesday afternoon. The Monarchs (4-5) jumped out to a 5-1 lead after the 1st quarter and held the Pioneers to just 14 shots on the day.

Ryan Colgan (Warwick Valley) scored two goals while Aaron Buck (Churchville Chili) had a goal and an assist for the Pioneers. Tyler Cook (Corning East) and Nicolas Covelli (Carmel) both netted one goal each while Patrick Matkoski (West Genesee) was credited with an assist.

Jake Smerka and Kyle Clarkson both had three goals and two assist to lead Methodist. Twelve different players found the back of the net for Methodist.

The Pioneers continue their spring break trip on Friday when they battle Greensboro at 4 p.m.
