Buffalo, NY- The Alfred State Men's Outdoor Track and Field team closed out the day with 23 impressive top-10 finishes.

Henry Smith took home first place in the javelin throw with a best of 50.98 meters. In the same event,
Colton Crowe notched fifth place with a best throw of 40.91 meters.
Jared Nerone also placed 10
th with a best of 35.45 meters. Nerone finished 10
th as well in shot put with a best of 12.87 meters. Â

In discus throw, four Pioneers placed in the top-10.
Dustin Burke leading the pack in second place with a best throw of 34.85 meters.
Ehren Pettapiece in fourth with a best of 33.92 meters and
Matt Goodwin followed in fifth place with a best throw of 33.53 meters.
Austin Freer then earned eighth place with a best throw of 31.31 meters to cap off a great event for the Pios.

Goodwin would go on to also place ninth in the hammer throw with a best of 42.87 meters and Pettapiece placing right behind in 10
th with a best of 42.46 meters.
Greg Raymond notched seventh place in the same event with a best throw of 46.85 meters.

JJ Howard took home second place in the high jump event with a best of 1.98 meters.
Gavin Stearns came in fifth place, jumping 1.83 meters and
Alex Marthia in seventh place with the same jump as Stearns.

In long jump,
Tyler Konter secured fourth place with a best jump of 6.61 meters while
Jordan White notched ninth place with a best of 6.33 meters.

In the track events, a handful of Pioneers competed strong. In the 100m, Myke Waldon took home fifth place with a time of 10.90 and
Jerome Harmon crossed the line right after in 11.03 seconds to place him in sixth.

Andrew Earlely took home two top-10 finishes, coming in sixth in the 400m hurdles in 58.73 seconds. He also grabbed 10
th place in the 110m hurdles, crossing the finish line in 17.11 seconds.
Tommy Cycon also earned 10
th place in the 400m hurdles, with a time of 1:01.99.

In the 800m race, Chrisian Wescott crossed the finish line in 1:54.73 which earned him a seventh-place finish. A group of Waldon,
Dean Brainard, White and
Marco Quinteros placed third in the 4x100 race, completing it in 43.26 seconds.

The Pioneers head to the Blue Devil Invite next weekend, start times still to be determined.
