Alfred, NY- This week's Pioneer Athletes of the Week are Taylor Benjamin (Women's Basketball) and Aaron Johnson (Men's Wrestling).
 

Taylor Benjamin (Newark Valley, NY, Newark Valley) led the Pioneers to a 2-0 week as she averaged 12.5 ppg, 7.5 rpg, and 3.5 apg. In the game against Keystone, Benjamin tallied 10 points, six rebounds, four assists, four steals, and two blocks. She followed with a 15 point game against Purchase. She also added nine rebounds, and three assists.
 

In the 285 bracket at the Williams Open, Aaron Johnson (Bennington, VT, Mt. Anthony Union) took second place. He opened the day with four wins, two falls and two decision wins to earn a spot in the championship match. He took down Jack Disharoon (EMC) and Nick Aldino (Cortland) by fall, and Jon Lettre (USM) and Christian Quandt (SPFD) in decisions. Then in the championship match he suffered a 7-4 overtime decision loss to Rory Nolan (NU) for second place.
