Alfred, NY - The Alfred State volleyball saw three players who was honored on the 2025 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.

The three Pioneers were: Gabriella Thurmond (Ithaca, NY, Ithaca), Alayna Tomlinson (Rochester, NY, Greece Athena), and Ava Wickes (Baldwinsville, NY, C.W. Baker)

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Women's Volleyball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

To qualify, a student-athlete needs to have a least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and must compete in 90 percent of the institution's matches played or must start in at least 66 percent of the institution's matches.
