Alfred, NY- This week's Pioneer Athletes of the Week are Ben Van Vranken (Men's Track & Field) and Emily Richardson (Women's Track & Field).
 

Emily Richardson (Hilton, NY, Hilton) set the tone for the Pioneers with a standout performance in the high jump, clearing 1.62 meters to secure first place and claiming the team's lone event win of the day. Richardson doubled back on the track as well, earning an eighth-place finish in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.83.

 

The Pioneers completed their trio of victories at the SUNYAC Championship in the pole vault, where Ben VanVranken (Red Creek, NY, APW) controlled the competition and took 1st place with a clearance of 4.70m, out-jumping the field by a wide margin.
