Alfred State Finishes Second In The Presidents Cup, Marking An All-Time Best

Alfred, NY - The Alfred State Pioneers concluded the 2025–26 academic year with a historic second-place finish in the AMCC Presidents Cup standings following the completion of the spring season. This marks the highest finish in program history.

The Pioneers accumulated a total of 53.5 points across the three seasons, earning 24.75 points in the fall, 12.5 points in the winter, and 16.3 points in the spring.

Leading the way was the women's soccer team, which contributed a team-high 6.75 points. They were followed closely by men's soccer (6.5 points), while both women's basketball and baseball added 6.25 points each.

In the final standings, Penn State Behrend claimed the top spot with a .933 percentage of possible points, followed by Alfred State with a .637 percentage, and Penn State Altoona finishing third at .621.

This achievement marks the third consecutive year that Alfred State has placed in the top three of the AMCC Presidents Cup standings since joining the conference in the 2019–20 season.

Director of Athletics Jason Doviak reflected on the milestone:

"Finishing second in the AMCC President's Cup marks a historic milestone for our program and is a direct reflection of the sustained growth we've worked hard to build across all of our sports. This achievement speaks to our commitment to providing an exceptional student-athlete experience that prioritizes competitive excellence, academic success, and personal development.

I am incredibly proud of our coaching staff, whose dedication, professionalism, and student-centered approach continue to elevate our programs year over year. Their ability to recruit, develop, retain, and support our student-athletes is the foundation of this success."
