Alfred, NY- The Alfred State Athletic Department proudly announces Jenna George as the Assistant Director of Gameday Operations and Athletic Communications.

Director of Athletics, Jason Doviak, is thrilled about Jenna's return to Alfred State.

Her passion for athletic communications, creativity, and commitment to service make her an exceptional fit for this role.  Jenna was a hardworking and focused student-athlete, and those qualities will help her succeed in her new role.  We look forward to the contributions she will make to our department as a professional."

Jenna George added, "Alfred State has played such an important role in shaping who I am today, and I'm incredibly grateful for the people and opportunities that have helped me grow along the way. I'm excited to give back to a place that believed in me, challenged me, and gave me the opportunity to really see what I'm capable of. It means a lot to be able to continue my journey as a Pioneer and hopefully provide that same support and encouragement to the student-athletes who come after me."

George graduated from Alfred State in May 2026 with a degree in Sport Management. During her time as a Pioneer, she was heavily involved in both athletics and campus leadership. She served as President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and President of the Alfred State Sport Business Club, while also serving as a student board member for the Sport Management Advisory Board. George was also a member and captain of the Alfred State women's basketball team.

Her four years working with the Alfred State Athletic department provided George with experience across multiple areas, including athletic communications, statistics, broadcasting, photography, social media, and game-day operations. She worked alongside coaches, staff, and student-athletes to support the successful promotion and execution of multiple Pioneer athletic events. George also holds an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer certification.

In addition to her work in athletic communications, George gained experience in gameday operations. From 2022 through 2024, she served as the Game Day Operations/General Manager for the NYCBL Dansville Gliders, coordinating many aspects of game-day operations, including field and equipment set up, lineups and umpire assignments, broadcasting and scorekeeping, social media, staff and volunteer supervision, 50/50 ticketing, budgeting, vendor relations, and sponsorships. She also organized community service events and youth baseball camps as part of her work with the Gliders.

This past summer, George served as a Tournament Operations Intern with The Ripken Experience in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. She supported tournament operations by preparing team rosters, welcome packets, waivers, and other event materials. She also served as a tournament official, applying game rules and procedures, announcing games, and operating scoreboards. George worked closely with full-time and intern staff while assisting with field operations, facility preparation, concessions, retail, and other event-day/week responsibilities.
George's combination of athletic communications experience, game-day operations, event management, and familiarity with Alfred State Athletics will allow her to step into a role that supports both the behind-the-scenes execution and public presentation of Pioneer Athletics.

Director of Athletic Communication and Gameday Operations, Will Rollison added, "I've watched Jenna grow tremendously over the past few years, evolving from a student worker into a capable and accomplished professional. I believe she will bring fresh ideas, positive energy, and meaningful contributions to the Communications Office and the department as a whole."

George's first day as the Assistant Director of Gameday Operations and Athletic Communications was August 27.
