Sixteen different Pioneers scored as Alfred State rolled to a 98-62 victory over Davis College on Saturday afternoon. The Pioneers shot a blistering 58.1% for the contest.

The Falcons scored first but the Pioneers answered with the 12 points to take the lead for good. Alfred State led 50-28 at the half after shooting 63.6%. The added to their lead and led by as many 42 in 2nd half en route to the victory.

Marquis Edwards (Queens/In-Tech Academy) led the Pioneers with 17 points and five assists on 7 for 12 shooting. Tyrone Davis (Brooklyn/Benjamin Banneker) finished with 11 points, seven assists, and five rebounds. Dante Jordan (New York/Law & Public Service) had nine points and seven boards while Dior Dixon (Brooklyn/Bishop Loughlin) and Samuel Volmy (Lockport/Christan Academy of WNY) both were 4 for 5 off the bench and finished with eight points. Sixteen of the Pioneers seventeen players that dressed scored in the contest.

The Pioneers were 43 for 74 (58.1%) from the field, 6 for 14 (42.9%) from three, and held a 49 to 32 advantage on the boards. Alfred State also forced Davis into 24 turnovers.

Kevin Davis led the Falcons with 12 points while Kolby Brown finished with 11 points and seven boards. Spencer Bath also finished in double figures with 10. Davis shot 37.5% from the field, 25% from three, and 60% from the foul line.

The blue & gold hit the road on Wednesday for a 6 p.m. contest at Franciscan.
