Alfred State College

Paul Welker served as the college's Sports Information Director for over twenty years (June 2001 until November 2021). He developed the department's first athletics website, social media channels, and live stat and video streaming services. During his time, he was involved in team coverage, department operations, game management, and served as co-advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Welker was key in the development of the award-winning Special Olympic Track & Field Spectacular and assisted in most department community service projects. He collaborated, mentored, and taught sport management students along with serving on countless committees across campus.

For his work, he was honored with the William Havens Award four times.
