Alfred, NY – The Alfred State women's soccer team drew a tie against the Alfred University Saxons, 2-2. The Pioneers are now 0-0-1 on the season.
Isabella Hoffmann scored the only two goals.
Baylee Hayes assisted on the goal, while
Regan Curabba assisted on the second. In goal Maddi Cox tallied nine saves.
Alfred State took the early lead in the second minute with a goal by
Isabella Hoffmann, assisted by
Baylee Hayes. After some back and forth action, the Saxons equalized the game in the 16
th minute. The Pioneers were able to hold the Saxons scoreless the rest of the half to keep it a 1-1 game.
AU came out the second half fast, scoring a in the opening minutes of the second half to take a 2-1 lead. The Pios had back-to-back penalty goal opportunities but was not able to find the back of the net. In the 74
th minute Isabella Hoffman drills one in the back of the net to tie the game, the corner kick assist by
Regan Curabba.
The Pioneers will be back in action on September 5
th against Thiel in Greenville, PA at 1 pm
