Men's Soccer 2026 Season Preview

Alfred, NY- The Alfred State men's soccer team announces their 2026 schedule. This season's 16-game campaign will be the program's first in the State University of New York Athletic Conference (SUNYAC).

Head Coach Vince Correa is excited about the group's potential as Alfred State prepares for its first season in the SUNYAC.

 "We are extremely excited to begin our first season in the SUNYAC. Competing in a conference with such a strong tradition of men's soccer will provide our team with great opportunities to challenge ourselves, learn, and continue to grow. We are committed to our blue-collar mentality of working hard every day, staying disciplined, and putting the team first. There is a lot of energy and excitement within this group, and we believe that our willingness to work, compete, and stay together will be a big part of our success this season. We're excited for the challenge ahead and look forward to representing Alfred State in the SUNYAC."

One of the Pios senior leaders, Andres Garces added:

"Our time in the AMCC was filled with success, highlighted by championships and multiple championship game appearances. As we begin this new chapter in the SUNYAC, we're excited for the challenge ahead and determined to showcase the talent, culture, and competitiveness of Alfred State Soccer."
The Pioneers will head across the street on September 2nd for the season opener and Alfred Cup game against the Saxons of Alfred University. Kickoff for that game will be at 6 pm. A few days later on September 4th, ASC will host Westminster for their home opener at 7 pm. On Sunday the 6th Alfred State hits the road for the start three game road trip, taking on familiar AMCC foes, Penn State Behrend for a 1 pm kickoff. On Wednesday, September 9th, ASC takes on Keuka College for a 4 pm kickoff and .before wrapping up the trip on September 12 against PAC powerhouse Allegheny College at 4 p.m.

Alfred State will return home on September 16th for a battle against the Knights of Geneseo at 4 pm. Then on Saturday the 19th, RIT comes to Pioneer Stadium for a 1 pm game. The Pioneers will end their non-conference schedule with a trip to Elmira to take on the Soaring Eagles at 4 pm.

The Pios will start conference play at home on September 30th with a match against Morrisville at 4 pm. ASC will be on the road October 3rd to take on Fredonia at 1 pm, followed by a game against the Red Dragons of Cortland at 4 pm on October 7th. The Pioneers last saw Cortland in the First-Round of the NCAA tournament in 2023 where they fell 2-1.
ASC will return home on the 10th to take on Delhi at 3 pm, before traveling to Buffalo on the 14th to take on the Bengals of Buff State at 4 pm. The Pioneers will celebrate senior day on October 17th at 3:30 pm as they take on Cobleskill. The final regular season home game will be on October 21st against Oswego State at 4 pm. Then on the 24th, the Pios will be heading to Oneonta, NY for the season finale against Oneonta at 1 pm.
