Alfred, NY- The Alfred State Women's Lacrosse team picked up their first conference win on their home turf over the Hilbert Hawks, 21-4. The Pioneers are now 8-3 overall, 1-0 in conference play.

Karlee Hargather had a spectacular night, scoring eight goals, earning 13 points and five assists.
Katerina Strong notched six goals of her own with three assists.
Alaina Gernatt also contributed heavily with four goals.

The Pioneers struck first as Strong put two goals up on the board six minutes into play. Shortly after Strongs goals, Hargather netted her first goal of the game. With two minutes left in the first period, the Hawks found their way onto the scoreboard, 3-1 in favor of ASC.
Kari Annunziato contributed by scoring the first goal of the second period, assisted by Hargather. A minute later, Hargather netted a solo goal, her 35
th of the season. Strong then recorded her third goal of the day, assisted by
Regan Curabba, 6-1. Gernatt found an opportunity on a pass from Strong, 7-1. Hilbert responded with back-to-back goals as they tried to cut the deficit, 7-3. ASC quickly shot back with three goals in six minutes, two from scoreboard 10-4.

The Pios executed solid offense as Hargather netted five goals in the third period. Erika Jackson also found the back of the net, assisted by Strong and Gernatt grabbed a free position shot shortly after. By the nineth minute, ASC was up enough to earn a running clock and headed into the final period 17-4.

Continuing with their momentum, Gernatt started the four-goal rally, assisted from Hargather. On a man-up opportunity, Annunziato netted her second goal of the game from
Brooke Walsh. Strong scored once again, quickly followed by Gernatt scoring the final goal of the game. Alfred State took home their first conference win 21-4.

ASC hits the road this weekend to take on La Roche, Saturday with a start time of 12 pm.
