Alfred, NY- The Alfred State Men's Lacrosse team picked up their first win of the 2026 season over the MCLA Trailblazers, 8-7.

In just the first quarter,
Matthew Bridges netted a hat trick, with his second goal at the six-minute mark being assisted by
Brady Nugent. Bridges would score another goal to open up the second quarter assisted by
Griffin Doan, 4-0 Pioneers. MCLA answered with a goal at the nine-minute mark. Doan would send the Pioneers into halftime 5-1 as he netted a last second goal assisted by Bridges.

The Trailblazers were able to score the first two goals of the third quarter. Bridges would notch his 13
th and 14
th goals of the season both assisted by
Joseph Tiberio, Pios up 7-3. MCLA would then tack on a late third quarter goal with 14 seconds left. The Trailblazers pushed hard in the fourth quarter as they scored three goals, tying the game 7-7.

Bridges would secure another goal assisted by Doan, to which the Pioneers would hold MCLA, 8-7.

ASC heads to Bevard, NC to face the Bevard Tornados on Monday, with a 2 pm start time.
