ASC Dominates Keuka In Statement Victory

Alfred, NY- The Alfred State Women's Lacrosse team delivered a dominant performance, cruising past the Keuka College Wolves in a decisive 17-5 victory. The Pioneers now move to a 7-3 overall record with conference opponents next up.
 
Karlee Hargather had another solid performance offensively as she notched seven goals, assisting three of her teammates. Alaina Gernatt recorded five of her own goals while Katerina Strong put in four goals and tallying three assists. Regan Curabba added in a singular goal while notching two assists. Maeve Runyon received the win for the Pioneers in the net, recording three saves.
 
Keuka struck first with a pair of early goals, but the Pioneers wasted no time responding. Gernatt got ASC on the board before Hargather netted a pair of her own followed by another Gernatt goal, 4-2 in favor of Alfred. The Pioneers continued to offensively dominate in the second period of play as Hargather continued to contribute heavily. Strong and Curabba each found the back of the net, helping the Pios extend their lead to 9-3 heading into halftime.
 
Alfred States momentum carried into the third, where they broke the game open. Hargather throwing in another pair of goals as well as Strong netting one in a man-down opportunity. Gernatt closed out the third period with the Pioneers 13th goal of the night. The Wolves found breaks in the defense and managed to score their final two goals, 13-5.
 
In the final period, the Pios stayed aggressive as Hargather grabbed her seventh and final goal of the night. Gernatt and Strong added late standout goals to seal the 17-5 win.
 
ASC will host their first conference match-up on Tuesday, April 7th. Draw control set for 6 pm!
