Hamburg, NY- The Alfred State men's basketball team dropped today's matchup against Hilbert, 81-53. The Pioneers fall to 5-12 on the year and 3-5 in conference play.
The Pios were led by
Darius Cunningham Jr. as he tallied 14 points.
Kennyh Hardeman added eight points and 11 rebounds, while
Mykell Lawson notched seven points and
Elijah Kioko put in six points.
After a back-and-forth start to the game the Hawks went on a run to take control of the first half. They were able to take a 40-20 lead into the break.
The Pioneers came out the halftime break, with energy as they tried to cut into the deficit. Hilbert was about to weather the Pioneers push and maintain control of the game, as they went on to win, 81-53.
Alfred State will return home on Saturday, January 24
th as they take on Pitt-Greensburg at 3 pm.
