Alfred, NY – The Alfred State women's soccer team delivered a dominant performance, blanking the Panthers 5-0 for their second consecutive conference victory. With the win, the Pioneers improved to 6-4 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
Isabella Hoffmann continued her impressive form, recording her second straight brace along with an assist.
Karlee Hargather also made a significant impact, scoring a goal and tying the all-time assist record with a crucial setup during the match.
The Pioneers struck early, with
Maddie Mark netting the opener off a precise pass from Hargather in the 11th minute. Momentum surged when Alfred State scored twice in quick succession: Hargather's corner kick deflected into the net in the 27th minute, followed by Hoffmann's breakaway goal just three minutes later. The Pioneers carried a commanding 3-0 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Alfred State extended their advantage with two more goals. Hoffmann assisted on a goal by
Lili Weber in the 47th minute, then secured her second goal of the match off a feed from
Jillian Wright to put the game out of reach. The Pioneers' defense held strong, keeping the Panthers scoreless to complete a comprehensive 5-0 victory.
The Pioneers will remain home to face off against the La Roche Redhawks next. Kickoff is set for Saturday, October 4th at 4pm.
