Alfred, NY- The Alfred State Women's Soccer team notched their second consecutive win, defeating the visiting Elmira Soaring Eagles 2-0. The Pioneers record moves to 3-3.

Chloe Baker played saw her first collegiate game and start, delivering a staggering 11 saves. Issabella Hoffman delivered on the offensive end with a brace.
Alfred State jumped out to an early lead in the third minute, courtesy of an
Isabella Hoffmann shot from top of the box that looped over the Eagles goalkeeper head for the 1-0 lead. Elmira was able to apply the pressure as they tallied 7 shots to ASC's 4 in the first half.
In the second half, both teams battled back-and-forth for a majority of the way through. However, Hoffman found the back of the net once late in the half. In the 77
th minute Hoffman delivered a shot from the near side of the penalty area that found the side netting to bring the lead to 2-0. Alfred played keep-away with the Eagles for the rest of the match, winning the game.
The Pioneers will continue their home stay as they face off against Thiel College. Kickoff is set for Saturday, September 20
th at 1pm.
