Canton, PA – The Alfred State women's soccer team rolled past the SUNY Canton Roos, shutting them out 4-0. After the matchup, Pios move to 2-3 on the season.
Karlee Hargather dominated on the offensive side as she tallied a hat trick while shooting 3-3. Ava Bruewhiler followed with her first goal of the season thus far.
Madeline Cox notched the shutout with five shots turned away.
The Pioneers struck early on with Hargather getting a breakaway goal in the 21st minute for a 1-0 lead, which continued into halftime.
Hargather found her way to her second goal in the 57
th minute of the final half.
Kaitlyn Howell tallied the assist on the shot. Shortly after, Hargather's momentum continued with her finding the back of the net once more. Alfred finally sealed the deal in the 75
th minute after
Alyssa Turner finding Bruewhiler for a goal to take the game 4-0.
Pios will start their three-game home stay facing off against the Eagles of Elmira College. Kick off is set for Wednesday, September 17
th at 7pm.
