Alfred, NY- The Alfred State men's track and field had a long weekend as they competed both the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic meet and the Alfred State Sunday Open.
Starting with Saturday at the Cardinal Classic,
Kyle Kapichok took seventh in the Javelin throw after a best throw of 44.77 meters. He followed with a 14
th place finish in the Discus throw. His best throw was 38.03 meters.
In the long jump,
Tyler Konter took 11
th with a best jump of 6.49 meters.
Aden Alexander followed in 14
th with a best jump of 6.46 meters.
Jordan White also finished in the top 20, as he took 19
th with a best jump of 6.33 meters. Also, in the triple jump, Alexander finished in seventh with a best jump of 12.73 meters.
Matt Scott would take eighth after a best of 12.67 meters, followed by Alex Mathia in 11
th after a best of 12.35 meters. Konter would take 15
th after a jump of 12.23 meters.
Then in the 1500 meter run
Christian Wescott would cross the line in 4:05.51 to take 14
th place.
Tyler Lantrip took 14
th in the shot put after a best throw of 12.78 meters. Then the high jump,
Dean Brainard finished in 11
th with a best of 1.76 meters.
On Sunday, the team of Brainard, Marco Quinteros,
Jordan White, and Alexander led off the day by taking first in the 4x100 with a time of 44.35 seconds.
In the 100-meter dash, six Pios took the top six places. Quinteros crossed the line in 11.73 for first, followed by
Nick Drabinski in second with a time of 11.90.
Isaac Rivet (12.15) came in third, Gelff Helms (12.34) came in fourth,
Jayden Brown (12.54) finished fifth, and
Abe Ahmed (13.01) finished in sixth.
In the 200-meter dash, Quinteros took first with a time of 24.29.
Ethan Hanford came in second (24.39), followed by
Mamadou Barry in third (24.53), Helms in fourth (25.15), Connor Schreiber in fifth (25.40), Brown in sixth (25.98), and Ahmed in seventh (27.26).
In the Javelin throw,
Colton Crowe finished second with a best throw of 41.48 meters. Then in the high jump,
Jordan White took first place with a jump of 1.85 meters.
Talan Green and Marthia tied for second with best jumps 1.75 meters.
White would take first place in the long jump with a best jump of 6.68 meters.
The Pioneers will be back in action next weekend at the SUNYAC Outdoor Championships hosted by SUNY Cortland.
