Hiram, OH- The Alfred State Men's Lacrosse picks up a win against Hiram, 10-9. The Pioneers move to 4-6 on the season.
Griffin Doan led the way with a hat trick and two assists. Colby Pasiut also scored three goals. Matthew Burris picked up the win in goal as he tallied 11 saves.
The Terriers scored the game's first goal, and the Pioneers netted back-to-back goals from Jesse Young and Doan to take the 2-1 lead. Hiram rallied the rest of the first quarter and start of the second as they scored five unanswered goals. Doan netted the Pios lone goal of the quarter before the break to make it a 6-3 game.
Hiram opened the second half with there straight goals for the 9-3 lead. Pasiut sparked the Pioneers run with back-to-back goals to end the third. With momentum on the Pioneers side, ASC held the Terriers scoreless in the fourth while netting four goals to tie the game at 9-9. Then with less than a minute left Pasiut netted the go-ahead goal to secure the 10-9 win.
The Pioneers will return home this weekend for their senior day game against La Roche at 2 pm.
