Williamsport, PA- The Alfred State men's lacrosse team suffers a 19-7 loss against Lycoming. The Pioneers fall to 2-3 on the season.
Two Pios notched hat tricks, Griffin Doan was the first with three goals, two assists, and three groundballs. Mike Wojcik had the other hat trick with three goals. Matthew Burris tallied 12 saves in the game.Â
The Warriors took the early lead as they scored five goals to start the game. The Pioneers were able to answer with a Doan goal before the end of the first.
Later in the second quarter, Lycoming scored another five goals before Ryan Batson stopped their momentum with a goal off of a Doan pass. The Warriors held off the Pios offense the rest of the half to take the 14-2 lead into half.
The Pioneers were unable to slow down the Warriors attack the rest of the game as Lycoming went on to win 19-7. The Pios will return home on March 18th for a game against Keuka at 4 pm.
