Buffalo, NY- The women's swim and dive team had a moves into third at the end of day two of the AMCC-SUNYAC championship. They tallied 214 points so far.
Alyssa James opened session five by taking second overall in the 500 free. She was the first AMCC swimmer to finish after touching the wall in 5:13.07. Mallory O'Keefe followed in fourth with a time of 5:21.17. Lydia Lapierre made the B-finals and finished in 13th with a time of 5:36.09.
Madison Snayczuk would be the first Pioneer to touch the wall in the 50 free to take third place. She touched the wall in 24.85. Gabriela Leite came in fourth with a time of 24.98
In the 200 IM, Adriana Gill finished in 15th with a time of 2:24.22.
In the final event of the night, the team of Leite, Hailey Kumpf, Gill, and Emma Merrick came in fourth in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:40.78. Earlier in the day during the time-trials, the team of Snayczuk, Merrick, Leite, and O'Keefe set a new conference record in the 200 free relay with a time of 1:38.54
The Pioneers will be back in the pool at 10 am for session six. The current top-three team rankings are 1. Cortland – 346, 2. Penn State Behrend – 238, 3. Alfred State College - 214.
