Washington, PA – The Alfred State men's wrestling team tallied eight place finishers at the Washington and Jefferson Invite.
In the 133 bracket,
Mason Drew took second place. After a first round bye, Drew tallied a 20-5 tech fall victory, and followed with a fall win in 3:54. Then he secured a 2-0 decision win for a spot in the 1
st place match, where he suffered a loss.
In the 184 bracket, the Pioneers had two place finishes.
Sean Malenfant finished in 2nd place, while Chris Herriman finished in 4
th place. Malenfant opened the day with a three straight first round falls, before suffering a loss in the 1
st place match to take second. Herriman tallied back-to-back falls before suffering back-to-back losses to take 4
th. =
In the 197 bracket, another two Pios earned place finishes.
Keeran Timerman took 3
rd, and
Aaron Johnson took 4
th. For Timerman, he notched a 3:43 fall win followed by a 13-8 decision win. After suffering a loss, he won the 3
rd place match. For Johnson, he tallied a 27 second fall followed by a 14-6 major decision win. He would then suffer back-to-back losses to take 4
th place.
Ryan Farley had a 4
th place finish in the 125 bracket. Farley opened the day with a 6-2 decision win. He followed with a forfeit win and a 8-1 decision win to put himself in the quarterfinals. He would then suffer two losses to finish the day in 4
th place
Owen Cummings took 4
th place in the 157 bracket. After a bye, he tallied a first round fall in 1:15. He followed with 19-13 decision win. After suffering loss in the quarterfinals, he fell in the 3
rd place match to take 4
th.
