Three Pioneers Earn AMCC All-Conference Honors

Alfred, NY – The Alfred State men's wrestling saw three Pioneers earn All-Conference honors, with one earning Co-Wrestler of the Year honors.

Senior Sean Malenfant was named Co-Wrestler of the Year, after being dominate force in the Pioneers lineup all season, as he held a 44-5 record and led the NCAA in Falls victories with 37 on the year. Malenfant is the winningest wrestler in Pioneer history as he surpassed the 133 career victory mark, while also tallying 90 career wins by fall. The Averill Park native garnered AMCC First-Team All-Conference honors as well this year after winning the 184 AMCC title.

Aaron Johnson also garnered AMCC First-Team All-Conference honors as he won the AMCC 285 title. Johnson finished the year with a 21-16 record. The Bennington, VT native tallied 13 fall of the season and one major decision.

Mason Drew garnered Second-Team All-Conference honors after taking second place in the 125 weight class. The Hornell native has a 24-14 record on the year, with 12 falls, five tech falls, and a major decision win.

All Three Pioneers will be in action this weekend as they head to Ithaca for the NCAA Regional Championship. Malenfant will be looking to advance to NCAA National Championship for the second time in his career.
