Ithaca, NY- The Alfred State men's wrestling team had three Pioneers move on to day two of the NCAA Regional Championship.
In the 285 bracket,
Aaron Johnson went 2-0 on the day to advance to the semifinals. He opened the day with a 16-1 tech fall. He followed with a 6-4 decision win. To open day two, Johnson with take on Josh Harkless (RIT).
Sean Malenfant is also alive in the winners side of the 184 bracket after finishing 2-0 on the day. Malenfant tallied two first period falls to make it to day two. Malenfant will open the day with a bout against Xavier Pommells (ITH).
Richard Morales is alive in the blood-rounds of the 141 bracket. After suffering a loss in his opening match, Morales rebounded with a 7-5 decision win, and followed with an 11-9 decision win. With those wins, Morales earned a day two appearance, his first match will be against Kaden Ware (PCT).
