Cresson, PA – The Alfred State women's soccer team took a road victory in their conference matchup against the Mount Aloysius Mounties 3-0. After the win, Pios advance to 8-4 overall and 4-0 in conference play.

Karlee Hargather had a robust performance as she tallied two goals on just three shots. Erin Drewiega followed with a goal and two assists. Madeline Cox was a defensive force, turning away seven shots to deliver a shutout.

Getting into the action, Alfred struck early as they netted a goal within the 2^nd minute. Hargather found the back of the net after she received a pass from Drewiega. Shortly after, Drewiega felt the momentum surging from the first goal and put another one in the net at the 11^th minute. The Pioneers kept their 2-0 advantage for the remainder of the half.

Most of the second half remained scoreless on both sides. However, Alfred sealed the deal with their third goal coming late in the 84^th minute. Hargather once again found a pass from Drewiega to score.

Despite the Mounties many attempts at a goal throughout the final half, Alfred was able to hold them scoreless as Cox registered five saves to close out the game.

The Pioneers will return home on Saturday, October 14^th to face off against Hilbert. Kickoff is set for 6pm.
