Williamsport, PA- The Alfred State Women's Basketball team fell to Penn College, 69-55. The Pios drop to 2-9 on the season, still 1-1 in conference play.
Kirsten Merritt led the Pioneers in tonight's match-up, shooting 5-9 behind the arc.
Taylor Benjamin and
Jordan Niles both added nine points each, Benjamin grabbing 10 rebounds on the night.
ASC started the game out strong, tallying six immediate points on the board. Penn was able to bounce back and create movement on the court. In the second quarter, the Pioneers were able to close the gap off a layup by
Mary Gibson and a three by Merritt, 25-22. The Wildcats remained in the lead at the end of the half, 36-25.
Penn continued to make the Pios work hard throughout the third quarter, 54-34 going into the fourth quarter. The Pioneers picked up the pace with seven minutes left as they went on a nine-point rally, 59-45. The Wildcats were able to remain in control as they secured the win, 69-55.

th at 3pm in Pitt-Greensburg.
