Greensburg, PA- The Alfred State Women's Basketball team took home a win on the road today against the Pitt-Greensburg Bobcats, 64-58. The Pioneers are now 3-9 on the season, 2-1 in conference play.

Taylor Benjamin was a leading force on the court for the Pios with 23 points and 12 rebounds.
Sarah Somers and
Josie Barton also contributed heavily as they scored 12 and 11 points respectively.

The Pioneers started and ended the first quarter out strong, taking the lead 9-6. In the second quarter, ASC took a solid seven-point lead that was initiated by a
Anna Merry jumper followed by a three pointer and layup by Barton. The Pios kept their lead going into halftime, 28-22. Â

The Pioneers kept their momentum going into the third quarter but let their lead slip as the Bobcats took the quarter, 40-39.
Kirsten Merritt was quick to tally a layup at the start of the fourth, but Greensburg continued to fight. The Bobcats were able to shrink down the Pios lead with 40 seconds left on the clock, 56-55. The Pios then went on to score eight crucial points to secure the win, 64-58.
