Hamburg, NY- The Alfred State Women's Soccer team couldn't make a comeback in today's match-up against the Hilbert Hawks, as they took a loss 3-2. After an aggressive game, this puts their overall record to 3-6-3 on the season.

The Hawks came out the gate with an early goal in the 8
th minute, but the Pioneers were quick to attack back.
Ava Bruehwiler found the back of the net on a penalty kick in the 9
th minute. The rest of the first half consisted of solid offense and defense by both teams.

In the second half, Hilbert netted two more goals within eight minutes, the first being in the 54
th minute and the second in the 62
nd minute. This brought the score to 3-1, as the Pios became determined to battle back. In the last few minutes of the game,
Karlee Hargather was able to net another penalty kick, putting ASC back in the game 3-2.

Unfortunately, the Pioneers were unable to find the net again to at least tie up the game and after 90 minutes, the Hawks took home the win, 3-2.
Kate Sproul tallied four saves in the Pios net.

ASC is back home this Saturday, as they face the Carlow Celtics, kick off set for 4:30 pm. It is also Senior Night so we encourage you to come out and support your senior Pios!
