Alfred State Softball wrapped up their 2022-2023 season on the road at Penn State Behrend today. The Pioneers lost 4-1 and 7-1. 

Game 1 

In game 1, Audrey Farrell (Linwood) pitched a complete game for the Pioneers, only allowing four runs and three of which were earned. Pioneers struggled at the plate with only three hits. In the top of the fourth, the Pioneers took a 1-0 lead on a Farrell double that brought in Nicole Youngberg (Falconer, NY). The Lions responded to tie it right away in the bottom of the fourth and ultimately take the lead with a three run inning in the bottom of the fifth. 

Game 2 

The Pioneers took an early 1-0 lead right out of the gates with Lauryn Engle (Elba, NY) coming through with a two-out double to plate Farrell. Engle finished the day leading the team with two hits while Faith Capito (Cuba, NY) Felicia Capito, (Cuba, NY) Kaylee Wonica (Staten Island, NY) and Youngberg each had a hit. Abby Beidel (Newville, PA) was given the loss going the distance. The Pioneers defense behind Beidel struggled, leading to three of the seven runs scored by the Lions as unearned.
