DuBois, PA- The Alfred State softball team concluded their 2026 campaign in a hard-fought game two of postseason play against the Pitt-Bradford Panthers, 9-5.
Two Pios saw the mount in today's match-up.
Hannah Powers started in the circle and
Marissa Ordway came in as a relief, recording three strikeouts. At the plate,
Nicole Youngberg went 2-4 while
Jordyn Colvin went 1-4 with two RBI.

Kate Gemza both added an RBI as well.
The Panthers plated four runs quickly in the first inning, resulting in a pitching change for ASC. Both teams would hold each other scoreless until the fourth inning, where Pitt-Bradford notched another two runs, 6-0. The Pioneers battled back, as their bats came alive in the bottom of the inning. After a walk,
Trinity Scott found herself crossing the plate on a bad throw down to third. Dion grounded out but that allowed Millard to score, soon followed by Colvin doing the same and scoring Youngberg. Gemza singled to right field to plate the fourth run for the Pioneers, putting them back in the game 6-4.
ASC would go on to grab another run in the fifth inning to cut the deficit to only one run, 6-5 off Colvin's second RBI. Unfortunately, the Panthers did not give in and continued to add runs to the board. They would go on to score three more runs which the Pioneers could not overcome, sending them home with a final score of 9-5.
