The Pioneers Tallied Two AARTFC Qualifiers In Season Opener

Houghton, NY- The Alfred State men's track and field team notched two AARTFC Qualifiers, to go along with two top five finishes at Houghton December Classic.

Greg Raymond is one of the AARTFC Qualifiers as he threw 16.42 in the weight throw for third in that event. With that distance he also moved into third all time in Pioneer history. Raymond also tallied a 17th place finish in the shotput with a throw of 11.94.

The other AARTFC Qualifier is Aden Alexander in the triple jump with a distance of 13.40 for a second-place finish. That distance puts him 10th all-time in program history.  Also in that event, Isaac Rivet jumped 12.09 for 12th place. Then in the long jump, Alexander finished in 18th with a 6.06, followed by Issac Rivet (6.04) in 19th, and Patrick Puffer (6.01) in 21st place.

In the 600 meter, Mamadou Barry finished in 1:26.30 for 11th place, while Eddie Scroxton ran a 1:26.46 and finished in 13th place. Barry's finish moved him into eight all time, while Scroxton's finish put him at ninth all time.

Andrew Zielinski notched a 15th place finish in the mile (4:50.05), and Sheltiere Cox-Matos finished 15th in the 400 meter (56.59).
