Dylan Perlino (Holland) started off the 2022 outdoor track and field season by breaking his own program record in the hammer throw at the Jim Taylor Invitational hosted by Susquehanna on Friday.
Perlino finished fourth overall with a throw of 50.87m (166-10) to break his previous record of 49.16m (161-3) that he set at the AARTFC Outdoor Track & Field Championships last May. He is currently ranked 13th in hammer throw in all of Division III.
He threw 11.88m (38-11 ¾) in shot put to place 14th.
James Olson threw 11.06m (36-3 ½) in shot put to finish 17th and 29.72m (97' 6") in hammer to place 33rd.
The Pioneers compete at Day 2 of the Jim Taylor Invitational on Saturday starting at 9 a.m.
