Wadsworth and Ponder Shine at RIT

Jacob Wadsworth (Dansville) and Zion Ponder (Rochester/School of the Arts) won events and qualified for the All Atlantic Region Championships as the Alfred State track & field team opened up the 2020 portion of the season.

Wadsworth won the 200 m with a winning time of 22.57. He was also tied for 4th in the high jump (1.89 m). Ponder won the high jump a leap of 1.97 m. 

Zack Rudewicz-Nepokroeff (Williamsville East) was 3rd in the long jump (6.61) and was 8th in the 200 (24.14), Matt Connolly (Elmira Notre Dame) was 5th in the 5000 (18:34.52), and Cameron Chambers (East Rochester) was 8th in the 400 (52.36).

The Pioneers head to Brockport next Saturday for a 10 a.m. meet.
