SUNY Canton used the big inning to earn a doubleheader sweep over Alfred State, 13-2, and 12-4, on Saturday afternoon.

In the opener, the Roos scored six in the 2nd and five in the 3rd and never looked back. Kaleigh Foran led the way with a 2 for 4, 4 RBI performance while Lizzie Bimonte and Brittany Staltare were each 2 for 4 with a RBI.

Aubri Mosier (Rome, PA) was 2 for 3 with a RBI while Melissa Barber (Nassau/Catholic Central) was 2 for 3.

In the nightcap, SUNY Canton led 5-3 going into the 5th and exploded for seven runs to put the game out of reach. Jaedyn Ossont led the team with a 2 for 3, RBI performance.

Courtney McDaniel (Arkport) led the Lady Pioneers with a 2 for 3, 2 RBI performance while Stormi Kruger (Medina) was 2 for 3 with a RBI.

The Pioneers and the Roos continue their four-game weekend series on Sunday. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 11 a.m.
