Joseph Gibson was announced as the new Defensive Line Coach for the Alfred State Football program during the summer of 2024.
Coach Gibson arrives in Alfred after one season as the Defensive Coordinator at Hornell High School. Coach Gibson also coached the Defensive Line for Raiders.
Prior to the start of his coaching tenure at Hornell, Coach Gibson played college football across two institutions. Gibson graduated from Buffalo State where he played Defensive End for the Bengals across two seasons. No stranger to Alfred State, Coach Gibson began his college playing career for Coach Linn. During his time as a Pioneer, Gibson was named ECFC Newcomer of the Year in 2017.
Gibson holds a Bachelors in Elementary Education from Buffalo State. Along with his coaching duties here at Alfred State, Coach Gibson is also an elementary school teacher at Hornell Intermediate School where he teaches the third grade.
