David Harrell joined the Pioneer staff as the Defensive Backs Coach for the 2025 season. Prior to joining the coaching staff, Harrell was a student-athlete at Alfred State and was a four-year member of the team from 2021-2024. In his three years as a starter, Harrell played Outside Linebacker and Safety, earning three All-Conference honors and was named a captain for the 2024 season. Harrell played an integral role in Alfred State’s back-to-back conference championships and NCAA playoff appearances in 2023 and 2024. Harrell hails from Brooklyn, New York where he played for Fort Hamilton High School.
