Alfred, NY- The Alfred State Pioneer Athletes of the Week are Lukas Bandurski (Men's Soccer) and Madeline Cox (Women's Soccer).

 

Lukas Bandurski (Rockwall, TX, Rockwall - Heath) turned in another strong performance for the Pioneers as they took on Elmira. He made five saves, keeping the match scoreless for more than 87 minutes. Four of his five stops came in a busy second half as he helped Alfred State remain in contention throughout the match. So far this season, Bandurski has made 26 saves with a .667 save percentage. 

Madeline Cox (Joppa, MD, Fallston) played all 90 minutes in goal for the Pioneers against La Roche. She made four saves in the shutout victory, earning her fourth win and second clean sheet of the season. Her strong performance between the posts helped secure Alfred State's 1-0 victory. So far this season, Cox has made 32 saves and has a .762 save percentage, while only allowing 1.82 goals against.
