Alfred, NY- The Alfred State Women's lacrosse team took down the visiting Mount Aloysius Mounties, 13-3. The Pioneers complete the regular season with a 10-4 record (3-1, AMCC) and are crowned AMCC regular season champions.
Alfred State set the tone early, dominating the opening quarter with a flurry of offense. The Pioneers jumped out to a 5–0 lead behind two goals each from Hargather and Strong, plus one from
Kari Annunziato. Mount Aloysius managed a late goal before the end of the first quarter, but ASC still held a strong 5–1 advantage.
The momentum continued into the second quarter as the Pioneers added five unanswered goals, again powered by Hargather and Strong, to extend the lead to 10–1 at halftime.
In the second half, Alfred State maintained control with strong defensive play. Strong and Gernatt each added to the scoring, while the Mounties netted two late goals. Despite the late push, the Pioneers remained firmly in control, closing out a decisive 13–3 victory.
