Hamburg, NY- The Alfred State men's lacrosse team took down the Hilbert Hawks in dominating fashion, 21-6. The Pioneers move to 6-8 on the season.
Matthew Bridges and
Joseph Pritchard led the way as they tallied five goals each. Bridges added three assists, while Pritchard tallied four assists.
Joseph Tiberio added three goals and three assists. Chase Cameron and
Richard Andres put in one goal and three assists each.
The Pioneers got out of the gate fast as Pritchard netted back-to-back goals before Tiberio put in back-to-back goals to take the 4-0 lead. Bridges added one more goal before the quarter break to give ASC the 5-0.
Alfred State continued their successful offensive attack, as they scored five move goals in the second quarter. The Pioneers also held the Hawks to two goals for the 10-2 going into halftime.
Mike Coburn, Bridges, and
Ryan Batson opened the third quarter with three straight goals to extend the lead to 13-2. After a Hawks goal, Pritchard and Tiberio netted goals of their own before
Brady Nugent netted his fourth goal of the season to give the Pios the 16-4 lead.
The fourth quarter, saw the Pioneers score another five goals on their way to a 21-6 victory. Alfred State will return to action on Wednesday April 22 at 6 pm as they take on Elmira for Senior Night.
