ASC Fly Past Eagles

Alfred, NY – The Alfred State women's lacrosse team delivered an impressive 17-1 win over the Soaring Eagles. Alfred improves to 2-1 on the season.

Leading the way, Alaina Gernatt scored five goals on just six shots, adding three draw controls as well. Karlee Hargather followed, filling up the stat sheet with four goals, six assists, five ground balls, three caused turnovers, and five draw controls.

Maeve Runyon notched the win with four saves.

The Pioneers kicked off the action, looking confident as they netted a goal in the early opening minutes.  Hargather was the one to put Alfred on the board. Shortly after, Gernatt found her first goal of the game as well. The Pioneers continued stringing together goals as they finished the opening frame with a 6-0 advantage after some contributions from Katerina Strong and Regan Curabba.

To begin the second period of action, Kari Annunziato found two consecutive looks at the net to further Alfred's advantage by two. A few minutes later, Curabba and Erika Jackson put themselves on the board as well.

Through Hargather and Gernatt's continued dominance, Alfred State continued padding their cushion while only allowing one goal out of the Soaring Eagles to win the game 17-1.

The Pioneers will head to Meadville, PA next week where they will face off against Alleghany College. The match is set for Monday, March 9th at 4 pm.
