Alfred, NY- The Alfred State women's lacrosse team had a dominant outing against Thiel on their way to a 16-1 win. The Pioneers move to 2-1 on the season.
Karlee Hargather led the Pioneers offense as she tallied nine assists to go along with her two goals.
Katerina Strong led the goal scoring effort with four goals, while
Alaina Gernatt added three goals.
Erica Jackson also scored two goals.
The Pioneers got off to a fast start as Jackson and Gernatt scored a goal each in the opening minute. A few minutes later, Jackson tallied her second goal of the game for the 3-0 lead. After back-to-back goals from both Hargather and Strong,
Regan Curabba scored in the final seconds of the first quarter to make it an 8-0 game.
ASC did not let off the gas, as they added five more goals to their lead in the second quarter, while keeping the Tomcats scoreless to take a 13-0 lead into the break.
In the second half, the Pioneers tacked on three more goals while holding Thiel to just one goal in the fourth quarter. ASC went on the win 16-1, and will be back in action on Friday, March 6
th as they take on Elmira at 4 pm
