Westfield, IN- The Alfred State baseball team dropped the final two games of the opening weekend doubleheader against Mount Union.
Game 2 vs Mount Union 11-1
In game two,
Caleb Wilson suffered as he pitched 4.0 innings with five strikeouts.
Zach Miner and
Daniel Lewis came in relief and notched two strikeouts each.
The Raiders had a fast start to the game as the scored four runs in the first, two in the second and five in the fifth. The Pioneers was able to hold them scoreless the rest of the game. ASC got on the board in the bottom of the seventh as they scored one run.
Zach Williams led off the seventh with a single to centerfield.
James Camacho followed with a single towards the shortstop. Williams would score from second off an error to make it an 11-1 game.
The Pioneers were not able to get any closer as they fell 11-1. ASC will be back on the road next weekend as they head to Virgina for a four game series against Roanoke College.
Game 1 vs Mount Union 12-0
Dylan DeMaro had a good game at the plate as he went 2-3.
Joey Sanna notched a double as he went 1-4.
Nathan Lucks suffered the loss on the mound as he pitched 3.0 innings and tallied three strikeouts.
Dominic Morsch came in relief and pitched 4.2 innings and tallied five strikeouts.
