Alfred, NY- The Alfred State men's soccer team dropped a hard-fought match against Penn College, 1-0. The Pioneers fall to 3-2-3 on the season.
After an even back and forth first half, Brogan Cotter had the first real opportunity as Liam Fitzpatrick found him in the box for a bicycle kick goal. Unfortunately, that goal was called off, leaving the score at 0-0. The Wildcats took the moment from there and scored a goal in the 68th minute for the 1-0 lead. Penn held off the Pios attack to get the 1-0 win.
Alexander Preston tallied a save in the effort. The Pioneers will start AMCC conference play this Saturday as they head to Pittsburgh for a game against Carlow at 7 pm.
